This weekend, our incredible dancers had the privilege of taking part in “A Chance to Dance”, an inspiring celebration of local talent hosted by Studio One – Dorset’s Centre for Performing Arts at the prestigious Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth.

The event brought together dance schools from across the region, offering young performers a lovely opportunity to showcase their work on a professional stage, in front of a packed and supportive audience. From start to finish, it was a joyful, high-energy experience — and our Step by Step dancers shone!

Alongside their performances, our students also took part in exciting workshops led by industry professionals. These sessions gave them the chance to explore new styles, push their boundaries, and experience fresh choreography in a fun and encouraging environment. From high-energy commercial to expressive contemporary, our dancers gave it their all — and came away buzzing with inspiration and new skills to bring back to class.

Performing in a theatre setting can be daunting, but our students handled it with grace, confidence, and true passion. For some, this was their first time performing in a venue of this size — and they absolutely rose to the challenge. Every single performer made us incredibly proud.

But “A Chance to Dance” was about more than just the stage. It was about community. It was about sharing the love of dance with others, supporting fellow performers, and being inspired by the variety and quality of work presented. Events like this remind us all why we do what we do — the pure joy of dance, and the magic it creates when we come together.

A heartfelt thank you to Studio One for hosting such a fantastic and uplifting weekend. Their dedication to providing platforms for young dancers is what keeps the spirit of community dance alive and thriving.
We’re walking away with full hearts, inspired minds, and memories that will last a lifetime. We can’t wait until next time.
With every step, you can achieve.
